James R. Peters Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Peters (Portland, Maine), who passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He is survived by: his father Donnie; his sister Michelle Butler; his nephews, Tyler and Jesse; and his aunts and uncles, Clayton Peters, Joe, Charlotte, Joyce, Gail, Harry, Joan and Terry Cushman. He is also survived by cousins, friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
