With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Eugene Ritchie (Winterport, Maine), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Eugene left this world on April 29, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George M. Ritchie and Athene Ritchie (Littlefield); his former wife Marilyn Ritchie (Hunton); his stepson Steven Harty; and his granddaughters, Jackie L. Dodge-Burnett and Devon Gabrill.
He is survived by: his brother Keith Ritchie (Dawn) of Searsport, Maine; his daughter Carla Ritchie (Mike Perry) of Winterport; his stepchildren, Jim Harty, Debbie Gillespie and Denise Poirier; and his grandchildren, Jodi Dodge of Jackson, John Dodge (Jen) of Dixmont, Maine, Joseph Harty (Denise) of Waldorf, Maryland, Emily Bridges of Crawfordville, Florida, Emma Balina (Roque) of Ojai and Nathan Brejwo (Meg) of Ulsan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 1 ME-6, Rockwood, ME 04478. A burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (98 Lebanon Rd, Winterport, ME 04496).
Eugene made significant contributions to the snowmobiling community.
