It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia Giatas (Saco, Maine), born in Biddeford, Maine, who passed away on October 15, 2018, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Nicholas W. Danton (Daoutakos), Thomas Daoutakos, Michael Daoutakos, Peter W. Danton (Daoutakos), Katherine Gregorakos, Antonia Burnham, Stella Bloom, Maria Economos and Georgia Mouzas.
She is survived by: her parents, Vasilios Daoutakos and Demetra Daoutakos (Kargakos); her husband George M. Giatas; her daughters, Domna Giatas (Ned McCann), Demetra Giatas (Kent Avery) and Dyonisia Giatas (Patric Whitcomb); her sibling's children, William Burnham of Dover, N. H., Alexander Mouzas of Biddeford, William Danton of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Sharon Strangas of Greenland, N. H.; her great-nieces and great-nephews, William Burnham Jr., Charles Burnham, Nicholas Strangas of Elliot, Nicholas Danton of Fort Lauderdale, FL, James Danton of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Peter Danton of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kim Roush of Virginia Beach, Carol Bergen of Freemont, N. H. and Anastasia Strangas of Portsmouth, NH; Stephanie Roush of Denver, CO, Chelsea Strangas of Elliot and Victoria Patterson.
