She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Ross and Anne Twomey Ross; her husband William Johnston III; her sisters, Dorothy Whalen and Pauline Shaw; and her grandsons, Stephen M. Johnston and Keith A. Johnston.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Johnston (Faith) of Lyman, Bruce Johnston (Joanne) of Lyman, Brian Johnston (Ellen) of Lyman and Blaine Johnston (Gayle) of Lyman. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to Community Library 10 John Street.
