The memory of Richard C. Monk of Vanceboro, Maine, who passed away on July 18, 2025 at the age of 82, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Monk and Alice Harris (Swaney); his great grandchild Hadlee Brown of Farmingdale, Maine; and his brothers-in-law, Sherman VanHorne (New Brunswick) of St. Stephen and Robert Dyer (Norma) of Lambert Lake, Maine.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Monk (Beth) and Cheryl Long (Mark) of Vanceboro, Maine; his grandchildren, Anthony Monk (Maureen Mahoney) of Mount Vernon, Colleen Monk (Dustin) of Farmingdale, Katrina Long (Brady Long) of Bangor and Kayla Long (Anthony Peters) of Bangor, Maine; his great grandchild Laynee Brown; his siblings, William Monk (Stacy) and Brenda McLaughlin (Joe) of St. Stephen; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Dyer of Vanceboro, Maine and Otis Dyer Jr. of Lambert Lake, Maine.; and his wife Teresa Monk (Dyer).
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vanceboro Community Center (101 High St, Vanceboro, ME 04491). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Vanceboro Community Center or the Vanceboro United Methodist Church.
