It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Yandow Viens of Waterville, Maine, born in Colchester, Vermont, who passed away on November 11, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey D. Yandow and Alma Yandow (Bonnette); her husband Paul K. Viens; her brother Donald R. Yandow; her sister-in-law Lorraine; her brother Kenneth B. Yandow; and her siblings-in-law, Florence of Burlington, VT. and Robert D. Viens (Cecile) of Glastonbury, CT.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth P. Viens (Margaret) of Waterville, Denise V. McGuan (Michael) of Waterville and Gerard A. Viens (Linda) of Cincinnati, OH; her grandchildren, Nicholas A. Viens (Lindsey) of Chapel Hill, NC, Daniel P. Viens (Laura Desrochers) of Jamaica Plain, MA, Pamela A. McGuan of Oakland, ME, Thomas M. McGuan (Cassandra) of Lewiston, ME, Matthew P. Viens of Cincinnati, OH and Christopher A. Viens of Cincinnati, OH; her great grandchildren, Henry Viens, Elizabeth Viens, William Viens of Chapel Hill, NC, Juliet Viens, Simone Viens of Jamaica Plain, MA, Gemma McGuan and Camden McGuan of Lewiston, ME.; and her brother-in-law Paul Beauregard of Northfield, VT. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Due to Covid-19, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately for the family at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Merici Academy, Attn: Nikki Brown, 18 Mount Merici Avenue, Waterville, Maine 04901. All six of her grandchildren attended school there and it has long been a favorite charity of hers.
