He was predeceased by: his parents, Phoebe Stowell (Hinman) and Rand Newton Stowell; and his brother Rand. He is survived by: his children, Nora of Park City and Porter (Andrea) of Durham; his wife Nancy; his grandchildren, Sayre, Saxon and Severin; his brother John; and his nieces and nephews, Tyler, James "Kimo", Preston, Barrett, Whitney, Lila, Heidi and Lisa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Weld Historical Society to support the "One School Street" Project.
