He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Hoyt Evans and Juliette Evans (Doughty); his brothers, Hoyt and Lyon; his former life partner Barbara Ann Grace of Roslyn, NY; his wife Ellen Fleming Evans of Wilton, CT.; his children, Juliette Evans Case of Old Lyme, CT, Sarah Evans Dwelley (Rob) of Camden, ME and Peter Evans (Gabrielle) of Madison, CT; his stepsons, Ward Fleming of Palenville, NY and Tim Fleming of Ludlow, VT; and his grandchildren, Matthias Case (Sonja), Nicholas Case, James Case (Vicky), Molly Case, Amanda Dwelley and Charles Evans. He was also cherished by step-grandchildren.

The family will hold a memorial service when COVID-19 health and safety allow.
