He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry G. Hanson Sr. and Mildred Hanson (Cushing); his wife Virginia Elizabeth "Betty" Schofield; his brothers, Harry G. Hanson Jr. (June) and Ralph Hanson (Lorraine); and his brother-in-law Bruce Snyder.
He is survived by: his children, James F. Hanson Jr., Nancy Hanson Wilburn and Arthur Hanson; his daughter-in-law Greta Hanson; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hanson (Aaron Vezeau), Abigail Hanson, Jessica Ireland, Dalia Hanson, Scott Wilburn (Lori) and Eddie Wilburn (Kelly); his siblings, Millard "Bud" Hanson (Georgia), Nancy Hanson Snyder, Peter, Peggy and Molly Mikkonen; his friends, Robert Miele, Jim and Nancy O'Neil; and his pets, Lyndon Brett, Osip and Lucas. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
