He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Wooten and Maria Wooten (Bonati). He is survived by : his wife Karolyn Wooten (Keeler); his son Kayle R. Wooten of Decatur, Alabama; his grandson Kayle R. of Saginaw; his sister Peggy Mayer (Fred) of Fort Valley, Georgia; his niece Betsy Partin; his nephew Keith Hough; his brother Gerald Wooten (Carol) of Richland, Michigan; his niece Maria Wooten of Toronto; and his stepbrothers, Marvin McKenzie (Charlotte) of Grand Blanc and Remi McKenzie (Amy) of Tucson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
