He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Patrick and Lena O'Brien (Reamer); his granddaughter Casey O'Brien; and his brothers, Joe, Gilbert and Gerald O'Brien.

He is survived by: his children, David O'Brien (Lisa), Larry O'Brien (Connie), Becky O'Brien Slimmen and Ken O'Brien (Lisa); and his siblings, Raymond, Carl O'Brien and MaryAnn Workman.
