He was predeceased by: his parents, James Horton and Althalean Horton (Statin); his daughter Sharon Horton; his siblings, Annerbelle Lewis, Willifred Horton, Minola Horton, Charlie Horton and Dorothy Jean Flint; his great grandchild Shawn Brown; and his daughter Masiiyah Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Alma; and his children, Renay Horton-Montgomery, James Horton Jr (Sherry), LaMount Horton (Toni), Linda Horton (Keith), Matthews Horton and Leonard Horton (Yovonna). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
