Carolyn Fredal wrote a sympathy message

“We are deeply saddened over the passing of our darling niece. We have many memories of Diane growing up at all our family celebrations. We loved hearing her sing, with her dad, or Uncle Tom playing the piano. She had a beautiful voice. Diane brought so much happiness when she came to our grandson’s hockey game at UofM. Her big smile and warm hugs delighted her cousins and us. She stuck around to meet Markie after the game. She was so precious. She made Markie so happy. We love you. RIP”

Sheila Wood wrote a sympathy message

“What I loved most about Diane was how great an interest she took in others. She would listen so intently, pause and let it sink in, and then ask a question that made it so clear she was not just meeting a social obligation of polite conversation but truly appreciating the unique opportunity to engage in a deeper conversation. I just felt appreciated when I was with Diane. There was never any pretense or judgment. You could surprise her, but you didn't feel judged. Prayers to you G, P, and B.”

Kathy Frodge wrote a sympathy message

“I am heartbroken to hear of Diane’s passing. We attended church together for years. Her children were just a little older than mine. We shared a lot of stories about our kids and we would both beam with delight! We also attended BSF together. She was an incredible support to me in a difficult time. I loved spending time with her. I’m so sorry for your loss Peter, Jillian and Brigitte. ❤️”

Carrie Fredal-Estapa wrote a sympathy message

“Christmas with the Fredal Family was filled with love and music. As a younger cousin I loved to listen to them sing along with Uncle Joe and Uncle Tom’s piano playing. Diane had an especially pretty voice, and she was kind and beautiful. It was clear that she enjoyed to sing. This will always be a part of me. Recently, Diane attended my son’s hockey game at UMich. We were so happy to have her, she was an Alumni of University of Michigan. I was proud to introduce my two sons to my cousin.”

““I remember spending so much time with your mom during tennis season. She was just a delight to talk to and she always took a sincere interest in me and my family. I have so many wonderful memories of watching your mom watch Brigitte play tennis. She LOVED watching her and supporting her! Such a proud momma! She would tell me about her other two children, Peter and Jillian, and her face would show her pride. Please know and always remember that your mom truly adored you with all she had💜”

Ann Fredal wrote a sympathy message

“I wish that I had a photo of the time Diane stayed at my beach apartment in Santa Monica >30 years ago? I remember it well. We went out with Joe and his cute Uruguayan architect classmate and had chili martinis. The two architects took us on a tour of famous architecture on the west side of LA. Sergio worked for Frank Gehry. We showed her Frank's house, and then toured one of Frank's buildings under construction. She ran along the ocean and was excited to see dolphins! It was lovely. Ann Marie”
