He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Lynn and Georgia B. Smalley (Gill); and his aunts and uncles, Joann, Harry Atkins, Gertrude, Howard Andrews, Wayne and Irene Smalley.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy J. Smalley (Pickett) of Battle Creek; his children, David Smalley (Verena) of Ohio, Jodi Lehman (Harold) of Ohio and Tiffany Schmidt (Mike) of Battle Creek; his grandchildren, Nash Smalley (Danielle), Logan Smalley (Sydney), Kendra Rodgers (Ryan), Darren Staton, Matthew Lehman, Alexis Lehman and Ty Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Eden Smalley, Aaron Rodgers, Everlee Rodgers and Oaklynn Rodgers; his mother-in-law Ruth Pickett; his siblings-in-law, Bob Pickett and Connie Ehredt (Mike); and his friends, Jerry Cook, Larry Cox and Rick Albaugh. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
