She was predeceased by : her parents, James Carey and Mary Emma Richardson (Young); her daughter Elena D. Wimberly; her granddaughter Takela Thompson; and her siblings, Mildred D. Mitchell, Mary J. Alexander, Mattie L. Durham, Beverly D. Miller, James C., Eugene P., Bradford A., Franklin D., William H. and Alvin C. Richardson.

She is survived by : her children, Anita M. Martin (Wimberly) of Battle Creek, Tonya C. Edwards (Wimberly) of Battle Creek, Angela L. Wimberly of Battle Creek, Sherman G. Wimberly, Jr. of Battle Creek and Harold Austin of Jackson, MI; her goddaughter Carolyn Wilson of Flint, MI; and her sister Alma L. Horton of Battle Creek. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service (223 Bedford Rd N, Battle Creek, MI 49037). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (255 South Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49014).
