He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bass, Sr. and Bertha Bass; his brother James Scott; his aunt Louise Williams; his brother-in-law James Woods; and his parents-in-law, Maxine Carew and Robert E. Henry.
He is survived by: his friend Gwendolyn O. Henry; his children, Jeanne (Michael), Darius (Andrea) and Marla (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Charles Shakylle, Devinn, Kyndall, Justin, Lauren and Quentin; his great grandchild Dylan; his sister Ruby Woods; and his close friends, Robert Holley and Betty Moorehead. He is also survived by nieces & nephews.
