It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara J. Story (Bay City, Michigan), born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward J. and Mary J. Vachon (Polaske); her husband David A. Story; her granddaughter Breanne Story; and her brother Kenneth Vachon.
She is survived by: her children, David J. Story (Penny), Kay Murphy, Alan Story (Stacie Marie) and Mark Story (Vicki Marie); her grandchildren, Mary Story, Joseph Story, Thomas Story, Christopher Murphy (Ravee), Kate VanPutten (Grant), Benjamin Story (Caitlin), Andrew Story, Brittany Story (Zachary Bills) and Joshua Story (Nicole Wackerle); her great grandchildren, Landon, Rory, Merrick, Briley, Adeline and Everett; and her sister-in-law Joan Visser. She is also survived by special friend, "Carol Next Door"; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Trahan Funeral Chapel (256 N Madison Ave, Bay City, MI 48708). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Barb's memory to the Saginaw River Marine Historical Society, Right to Life Michigan or to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
