He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Whalen and Ruth C. Whalen (Wager); his in-laws, Clare, Doris Wackerle and Florine Wackerle; his sister Kathleen Winchell (Joe); and his brother-in-law Terryl Wackerle.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne M. Wackerle; his daughters, Tanya Howell (Brandon), Tracy Whalen (Gregg Umphrey) and Tammy Reinsch (Ben); and his grandson Cooper James.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Squires Funeral Home (211 N Henry St, Bay City, MI 48706). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
