He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Banaszak and Isabelle Banaszak (Marchlewicz); his daughter Amy Banaszak; and his brother Robert Banaszak. He is survived by: his wife Maryellen Banaszak (Leppek); his children, Shari Mehlhose (Paul), Mark R. Banaszak and Lisa Steffen (Patrick); his stepchildren, Judy Summers (Ed), Steve Leppek (Barb), Jeanette Rudy (Gary), Roger Leppek and Colleen Rosenbrock (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Daniel (Tracy), Gregory (Stephanie), Renae, Michael, Gina, Emily, Megan, Nicole (Loren), Lindsey, Breanna, Nathan, Stephen (Mickenzie), Danelle, Michelle (Marty), Kayla (Daniel), Matthew, Erica (Alex), Jack, Katie and Sawyer; his great grandchildren, Luxor, Caleb, Emma, Gia, Anthony, Nickolas, Alexis, Evelyn, Lily, Ella, Connor, Olivia and Paisley; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Banaszak.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in Richard's honor to Knights of Columbus Council 414.
