He was predeceased by : his parents, Tarcisio Paterno and Olga Paterno (Gheller); his wife Susan Paterno (Halberg); his parents-in-law, Clarence and Ruth Halberg; his uncles, Louis Gheller and Ilario Omizzolo; his aunt Emelia Gheller; his siblings-in-law, Keith Johnson, Howie Halberg and Karen Daane; his nephew Tim Johnson; and his cousin Dino Omizzolo.
He is survived by : his former life partner Anne Paterno (Mabilia); his children, Tracy Reiter (Paterno), Linton Paterno and Stephanie Paterno; his grandchildren, Cody Barbari and Biancca Reiter; his siblings, John Paterno (Cheryl) and Liana Saari (Michael); his siblings-in-law, Jim Halberg (Teresa), Dan Halberg (Debbie), Roger Halberg (Adele), Randy Halberg (Tina), Darwin Daane, Daine Monti (George), Sandy Johnson, Julie Colman, Joanne Halberg and Linda McElrone (Tim); and also, Tracy Reiter (Sven), Linton Paterno and Stephanie Paterno.
Due to COVID-19 a formal celebration of life will be held at a later date.
