She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Toivo A. Maki and Jeanette Maki (Walitalo); her sisters, Marian Boxer (Herbert), Joyce Tapani (James), Jane Bowen (John), Audrey Harjala and Anita Walrath; her siblings-in-law, Gerald Harjala, Dick Walrath, Karen Williams (Timothy) and Ann Parker (late Tom); her husband Gerald Michael Mark Lukach; her children, Melissa Adams (Nicholas), Ryan Lukach (Sandy) and Lonnie Lukach (Jen); and her grandchildren, Veronica, Caelyn Rose, Jack, Kyler and Corinne. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship has been set up to honor Chris.

Judith Bloom Fradin wrote a sympathy message

“My family and the Lukaches first became friends in the early 1970s when we rented a summer home on Creekside Trail. We enjoyed many afternoons and evening meals at Little Girl’s Point; our collective 6 kids became summer friends for decades. Chris was a wonderful companion for me. A master nurse, a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, she was always ready for an evening get-together. She will be forever on the beach making S’mores in the memories of our family.
