He is survived by: his sons, Rob Vermurlen (Alina) and Brad Vermurlen (Alex); his grandchildren, Nora, Ada, Evelyn, Steven, Olivia and Avery; his brothers, Tim Vermurlen (Julie) and Dave Vermurlen (Andi); his nieces, Nicole and Jacklyn; his stepson Ryan Smith (Ashley); and his stepgrandchildren, Maddie and Mara Smith.
