He was predeceased by : his parents, Arnold Holmes and Erene Holmes. He is survived by : his wife Sharon; his children, Carl Holmes Jr. (Bud) of Indianapolis, IN, Shari Baugher (Randy) of Mount Vernon and Stacy Holmes (Stefanie) of Newark, OH; his grandchildren, Tyler Holmes (Ashley), Haley Staten (Lucas), Colin Holmes (Samantha), Matt Baugher and Abbey Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Liam Holmes, Kinsleigh Holmes, Zander Holmes and Naomi Staten. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel (11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
