He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schafer and Irene Schafer (Bierschbach); his brother David Schafer; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Schafer, Gary Oaks, Bob Blessley and Warren Marazita.
He is survived by: his wife Vicky Schafer; his daughter Jennifer Wallace (Scott); his stepchild Lynn; his siblings, Joann Blessley (Bob), Janet Oaks, Mary Marizata, Cathy Smith (Jack), Susie Barto (Bob), Donna Hutchison (Tom), Marj Dawkins (Donald), Carla Daniels (Stan), Mark Schafer (LeeAnn), Lois Mahoney (Tom), Stan Schafer and Bernie Schafer (Sue); and his grandchildren, Avery and Alder. He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
