He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph T. Richter and Elizabeth Richter (Bedrava); his former spouse Marion J. Vondrasek; his wife Betty Blattel; and his great grandchild Nick.

He is survived by: his children, Shirley McNier (Jim) of Atlanta, MI, Diane Scime (Sam) of Virginia, JoAnn Maisner (Mark) of Fowlerville, Jeannie Honey (Fred) of Florida and Joe Richter (Candi) of Ohio.
