He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Spare and Addie "May" Spare (Lobdell); his son Walter Spare Jr.; and his sisters, Rose and Sally.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dimitroff; his children, Trina Scott (Chris) of Flushing, Tammy Browning (Guy) of Flushing, Tresa Graunstadt (Don) of Houghton Lake and Shelly Keller of Montrose; and his nephew Vance Haywood (Stacey). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
