He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Henry Betke and Lucille Betke (Bierbaum); his wife Joan Thornton; and his children, Debbie Whitaker of Galesburg, Gayle Lovett of Kalamazoo, Mary McNally (Vince) of Kalamazoo and Joe Betke (Robin) of Kalamazoo. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
