He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Merrill and Ethel Merrill; and his brother Vernon Merrill (Shirley). He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Granger; his children, Duane Merrill (Sheila), Julie Hester (Tim) and Shawn Merrill (Erica); his grandchildren, Jacob Merrill (Brianna), Garrett Hester, Brennan Merrill and Logan Merrill; his great grandchild Fiona Merrill of Gideon Merrill; his stepgrandchildren, Jason Hester (Teri) and Nicole Babin (Jason); and his siblings, Richard Merrill (Bethany) and Bruce Merrill (Wilda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
