He is survived by: his husband Kenneth Ferguson; his brother Ray Ellis (Rose); and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Martin, Charles Ferguson (Linda), Thomas Ferguson (Joanne), Richard Ferguson (Susie), James Ferguson (Tammy), Steve Scharrer, Joan Ellis, Mary Lou McCarter (Charlie), Ann Ferguson, Kathy Schupp, Sally Whitney, Nancy Kus (Phil), Kathy Ashworth and Lynne Travis (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Genesee County .
