He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert E. Miller and Elizabeth K. Miller of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.; and his brothers, Charles, William, Robert and Daniel.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Laban; his children, Karen Synowiec (late Larry), Alan (Sally), Janet (Sandy Bredlow), Dorothy Kryskowski (David), Daniel (Sylvia), Douglas and David (Laura); and his brother-in-law Francis "Joe" Laban (Jennette). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, along with several nephews and nieces from his brothers.
