He was a member of Charlotte County Genealogical Society in Port Charlotte, Florida and The Descendants of the Founders of Ancient Windsor He did an article in 1996, his parting remark for this interview was "I haven't decided on a death date yet—but maybe 2018! Lee is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Russ) Thomason of Georgetown, three grandchildren, Cole Thomason of Louisville, Elizabeth Thomason and Connor Thomason both of Georgetown and a great grandchild, Annabelle Sandoval. Memorial Service will be 1 pm Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Spindletop Hall, 3414 Ironworks Pike, Lexington, KY 40511, where a special memorial in his honor.
