She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Shafer and Esther Shafer (Aho); her husband Roger Kaarto; and her siblings, Joan Makinen (Norman), Jim Shafer (Lori) and Judy Miilu.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Branton (Mark) of Lake Orion, MI. and Greg Kaarto (Heidi) of Fenton, MI.; her grandchildren, Lindsay Higham (Andrew), Kayla Branton, Jacob Kaarto (Patti), Seth Kaarto (Megan) and Luke Kaarto; her great grandchildren, Emmi, Oliviya, Henrik, Mikko Higham and Jayce Kaarto; her sister Joyce Torvinen (James); and her brother-in-law Howard Miilu.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
