It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jean McAbee-Stacks-Maleski of Eau Claire, Michigan, who passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert McAbee and Agnes McAbee (Terry); her children, Rebecca Stacks, Pamela Stacks and Abel Stacks; and her siblings, Elizabeth McAbee-Mathis, James McAbee, Clyde McAbee, Robert McAbee, Elbert McAbee and Gerald McAbee.
She is survived by: her husband Henry Maleski; her daughter Sandra Cates; her adoptive daughter Jessica Lafond; her grandchildren, Keith Adams, Michael Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Michele Modro and Donald Daugherty; and her brother Richard McAbee. She is also survived by seven great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and two adopted grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Calvin Funeral Home (8 E Main St, Hartford, MI 49057). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
