He was predeceased by : his parents, Cyrus Reed and Emma Reed; his wife Edith Reed; his sisters, Helen Lehman and Phyllis Simmons; and his close friend Ronald Wood.

He is survived by : his son Randy Reed of Boyne City; his daughter-in-law Jammie Reed of Gaylord; his granddaughters, Chelsea Reed of Petoskey and Meghan Reed of Boyne City; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Wood of Crystal and Robin Phenix of Belding. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
