He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Irland and Clara Irland (Callaway); his wife Marlene; and his brother James Irland. He is survived by: his children, Katherine Wells of Pontiac, Chester Irland (Anna) of Gaylord, Stephanie Ehresman (George) of Feeding Hills, MA and Timothy Irland of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Myrrah, Meaghan, Lorane, Morgan, Cody, Braden, Kamryn, Amanda, Sarah and Emily; and his siblings, Raymond Irland (Simone) of Orlando, FL, Judy Hildenbrant (Darrell) of Orlando, FL and Jean Burleson of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions in his memory to the American Lung Association.
