He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lawrence and Irene Vivian McGarvey (Westrich); and his brother David McGarvey. He is survived by: his wife Shirley I. McGarvey; his children, Kathleen Hoffman (Alan) of Hamilton, Sheila Smith (Cameron) of Grand Rapids and Pat McGarvey (LaRose) of Caledonia; his grandchildren, Earl Batenburg (Lauren), Eric Batenburg (Brittany), Ben Batenburg (Erin), Vivian Smith and Pennelope McGarvey; his great grandchildren, Evelynne, River, Olivia, Harrison and Jonas; and his siblings-in-law, Doris McGarvey and Richard Davey (Sharyanne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
