He was predeceased by: his stepfather Ted Nugent. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Jeffrey, Sonia Howard, Laura Martinez and Michael Benjamin Battaglia "Ben"; his grandchildren, Spencer, Haley, Alyssa, Michael, Vanessa, Ryan, Lillian, Natalie, Beckham and Vivian; his significant other Cindy Sale; his parents, Donna Nugent and Paul Sale; his stepmother Bozena Sale; his brother Kurt; his sister-in-law Amy Sale; his half-sister Tania (Ted Dozeman); his nephews, Tyler Sale, Travis Sale, Elliot Dozeman and Sebastian Dozeman; and his stepsiblings, Maggie, Brooke Elwood, Tom Nugent, Susie and Chuck Duquet.
