It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Laverne Burkett of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Markey Wilkey and Laverne Wilkey (Edmonds); her husband Chuck; and her brother Rev. Gordon Wilkey (Amy). She is survived by: her children, Kevin Burkett (Lisa) of Dacula, GA, Kurt Burkett (Debbie) of West Bloomfield, MI and Kelly Nickel (Brad) of Alto, MI; her grandchildren, Nancy Taliaferro (Wyatt), Jack, Michael, Matthew Burkett, Brianne and Brenna Nickel; and her siblings, Jerry (Judy), Dennis (Janie), Tommy Wilkey (Theresa) and Joyce Ramirez (Louis).
