It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Westra in Grand Rapids, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on September 19, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Westra and Nellie Westra (Koetje); and his brothers, Doré and James Westra. He is survived by: his wife Helen Petter Westra; his daughter Marie; his son-in-law Scott Vander Linde; his children, Rachel Mary Westra and Arend; his daughter-in-law Magdalena Westra (Bonnin); his grandchildren, Annica (Vander Linde), Peter Quakenbush, Kristin Vander Linde, Alexander and Helena Westra; and his great grandchildren, Linden Louise and Little John Quakenbush. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and distant relatives, and for the time spent with nephews, nieces and their children.
