He is survived by: his parents, Sabine Fitz and Dale Fitz; his sister Kyra; and his grandparents, Helen Fitz, Don Fitz, Helga Schmidt and Harald Schmidt.
Kai loved art and animals, specifically turtles, and donations can be made in Kai's name to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and to the Sea Turtle Conservancy.
