She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Stellema; her parents, Edward Hoeksema and Mary Hoeksema; her daughter Karen Malestein; her grandson Aaron Malestein; her daughter-in-law Donna Stellema; and her brother-in-law W. Gerald Melpolder.
She is survived by: her children, Rob Stellema, Marcia Hofstra, Kathy and Dan Roodvoets; her son-in-law Mark (Elisa Malestein); her grandchildren, Randy Stellema, Chad Stellema, Denise, Kyle Lewis, Kim, Jason Rangel, Kendra, Aaron VanDerVeen, Kurt, Amy Hofstra, Kelli, Erick Valle, Jonathan, Katie Roodvoets, Dennis, Jessica Roodvoets, Bill, Michelle Roodvoets, Justin Wigger, BJ Koster, Elizabeth, Stephen Franklin and Jennylyn Koster; and her sister Kathryn Melpolder (Kay). She is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to Edison Christian Health Center.
