With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mona Hugo (Grand Rapids, Michigan), born in Manistique, Michigan, who passed away on October 20, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Minor and Beatrice Minor (Isaac); her husbands, Ernest "Mike" Vertz and Randall Hugo; and her brothers, Don Minor, Robert Minor and Jack Minor.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Vertz (Chris Moore) of Grand Rapids, Michele Hillman (Kyle) of Grand Rapids, Mona Wojtas (Pete) of Grand Rapids, Mia Eilers of Grand Rapids and Marcia van der Ploeg (Bram) of Granville, OH; her grandchildren, Blake Vertz (Amy), Adam Vertz, Heather Golliver (George), Andrew Hillman (Kelly), Jessica Hillman (Tyler VanReed), Evan Hillman, Hunter Wojtas, Harrison Wojtas, Fisher Wojtas, Rembrandt van der Ploeg and Madelaine van der Ploeg; her great grandchildren, Sadie, Henry, Alivia, George, Noa and Robert; her sister Joanne Schnurer; and her sisters-in-law, Myrle Minor and Donna Minor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
