She was predeceased by : her parents, Ruth Marie O'Neill and Vincent O'Neill; her daughter Mary Therese Tierney; her grandson Corbin Tierney; her sister Patricia O'Neill Eardley (Warren); her nephew Daniel Eardley; and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Bricker (Bill) and Marge Thiebout (Bill).

She is survived by : her husband Joseph Tierney; her children, Michael Tierney (Beth), Patrick Tierney (Sandra), Maureen Bednarek (Phillip), Timothy Tierney (Gretchen), Kerry Nugent (Steven) and Brian Tierney (Heidi); her niece Kathleen Lowing; and her nephews, Terry Bricker (Debbie), Jim Bricker and Bill Thiebout (Arlene). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home (3980 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506).
