He was predeceased by: his mother Agnes Forbes; his brother Jack Barnoske; and his brother-in-law Albert Marshall. He is survived by: his wife Colleen; his children, Jeff Malcolm, Julie Smith, Patti Johnson (Todd) and Michael Malcolm (Jen); and his siblings, Carol Marshall Hastings (Paul), Sue McNitt, Jean Mosher, Jim Barnoske (Cathelyn) and Fred Barnoske (Lisa).

Family requests donations be made to Alzheimers Association.
