She was predeceased by : her parents, Katherine Young and Gerald Young; her siblings, Richard and Marilyn; her daughter-in-law Carol Chase (Mike); and her husband Donald "Gene" Chase.

She is survived by : her brother Gerald; and her children, Michael Chase (Betsy), David Chase (Sue), Steven Chase (Sally), Mary Fischer (Michael), Tom Chase (Loie Lanting) and Christine DeMaagd (Dave). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In honor of Joan and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Blodgett.
