We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2021, at the age of 77, Martin D. Banning of Grandville, Michigan, born in Bangor, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Dr. Andrew and Marguerite Banning; his stepmother Nellie; and his brother Harmon. He is survived by : his former life partner Gertrude Altena of Marne; his sister-in-law Ann Banning; his nephew Grant; his nieces, Adele Wright (Rob) and Alison Rogerson (Joe); his cousins, Pam, Pat Goudzwaard, Will Banning (Helen), Silvia Baker (Arnold), Anita Banning and Sarah Gutek (Rob); his wife Gert; his stepchild Gene Altena (Kendell) of Grand Rapid; his stepgrandchildren, Zach, Nate and Nick; and his stepson Matt Altena (Lindsay) of Grand Rapids.
