With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Vera Wierstra (Grandville, Michigan), who passed away on September 22, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Shirley departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Shirley may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Shirley leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Stites and Lena Stites; her husband Edwin Wierstra; and her son Robert Wierstra. She is survived by: her children, Mike Wierstra (Debby) and Sue Avery (Denny). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville, MI 49418).
