He is survived by: his parents, Henry Walter and Gladys Walter (Bates); his wife Lillian; his children, Bill Walter (Gayle) of Grand Haven and Marshall Walter (Robin) of Greenville; his grandson Max Walter (Abby) of Washington; and his sisters, Eva Henderson (Hal) and Theda Everest (Lavern).
