He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Wannamaker Balance, Sr. and Bessie Lee; and his brothers, Thomas, Jr. and Lucian of Alabama, USA.. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Robert Genter, Kathy Holley (Genter), Paul Genter and Lauren Keith (Genter); and his wife Gwen Genter (Martin).
