He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. John Walaskay and Margaret MacKay Walaskay; his daughter Michelle Valaskova; and his brother James Walaskay. He is survived by: his wife Ann Walaskay; his children, Barbara Marshall (Peter), JoAnn Alvarez, Anna Valaskova (Andrew Howard), Jason Walaskay (Robin Maglio) and Joseph Walaskay (Abby); his grandchildren, Christopher, Evan, Erin, David, Cameron, Madeline, Simon, Lucas and Hudson; his great grandchildren, Calder, Sebastian, Emmett, Kollyns, Blaire and Madelyn; and his siblings, David Walaskay, Jayne Cochran and Eva Harris.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home (122 W Lake St, South Lyon, MI 48178). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 10:30 AM at the Fellowship Evangelical Presbyterian Church (22200 Pontiac Trail, South Lyon, MI 48178). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery - Plymouth (41661 Plymouth Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
